Filtration System Reduces Harmful Contaminants
With the Aqualux Water Pitcher, you and your family can enjoy clean, better-tasting water straight from the tap. The pitcher's included Ion Exchange Resin filter acts as a magnet for impurities that are often found in tap water, such as lead, copper, mercury, cadmium, and zinc. The filter removes these impurities, reducing their potentially harmful effects. The filtering process also reduces that taste and odor of chlorine, thanks to a special sponge-like filtration system.

The end result is clean, better tasting water that is healthier for everyone. This is especially good news for children and pregnant or nursing women who are more susceptible to potential harm from lead and other impurities. Filters should be changed every 40 gallons or two months and are not intended for use with microbiologically unsafe water.

All Brita Pitchers are universally compatible with Brita Pitcher Replacement Filters.

Filter Change Indicator Ensures Healthier, Great-Tasting Water
Changing your filter regularly ensures that you will always have clear, healthful, great-tasting water. The Electronic Filter Change Indicator makes it easy to know when it is time to replace your filter. Every two weeks an indicator bar will disappear from your pitcher's electronic display. After two months, when all the bars have disappeared, an arrow will flash at the top of the display reminding you to change your filter. Reset your filter change indicator each time you replace your filter to make sure your water is always healthier and great tasting.

Smart Design Features Make Water Filtration Easy
The Aqualux Water Pitcher is built smart to make water filtration easy. The pitcher cover has a flip top so that you do not need to remove the entire lid to refill the pitcher. A contoured, soft-grip handle makes the pitcher comfortable and easy to lift and pour.

Stylish and slim, the Aqualux is designed to fit into your refrigerator door so you'll always have plenty of cold, filtered water on hand. Despite its compact size, the pitcher holds up to 48 ounces of water, enough for six eight-ounce glasses, making the Aqualux a practical choice for your family.

"Functional Design, Great tasting water" 2010-04-02
By Wilfredo M. Viray (Orange County, CA)
I have purchased the previous models of the Brita pitchers and there has always been an issue with the design. Not this time. They have finally come out with a style that really works.

Pros:
1. Non-slip grip on the Handle
2. A Knob you can press to open the port to fill with water. I previously had to remove the top to fill it with water.
3. The spout has a cover that only opens when you pour.
4. Filter replacement reminder.
5. The water does taste better than tap or bottled spring water.
6. It removes almost all the contaminants.
7. Slim design. Easilty fits in the fridge.

Cons:
1. Before you can use a new filter, you have to leave the filter submerged in water for 15 minutes, then you have to rinse it out. Then you have to fill it up twice, and throw the water away. Just a little tedious.

Summary:
Nice new design and it really cleans the water very well.

"Excellent Pitcher." 2010-03-29
By GolfPro (Texas)
The shape and size fit perfectly in the refrigerator. The top has a hinged door that flips up and makes it easy to fill from the tap without having to take the top off. Great help to have the filter indicator, which reminds you after a 4 week period to replace it. I would buy this pitcher again and again.

"Works Perfectly!" 2010-03-21
By Billy O'Neal (Northfield Ohio, United States)
I'm a student at Case Western Reserve University, and on the 4th floor of my dorm building, the water out of every faucet tastes like iron pipe. Which isn't a coincidence -- it's probably carried in iron pipe.

Using the Brita pitcher here I was able to remove the poor taste and make the water drinkable again. Since the water was drinkable, I saved a fortune on bottled drinks. I'd recommend this to any of my fellow college students.

"looks good but defective" 2010-02-28
By A. Papalamprou (CA USA)
Brita has a good reputation and the pitcher looks great. But after you start using it for a while you see those blue carbon particles escaping the filter and entering your glass of water. I tried different things but it seems the defect is in how the pitcher is designed, because I had a less well know pitcher in the past and this never happened.

I contacted customer service and the very polite lady explained to me that it is OK if a few of them come out, because they are made from "coconut tree" or something. Still, these are supposed to be the carbon particles that filter the water, ie suck all the things we do not want to drink, so I consider this explanation poor and I am sorry to say I had to throw away the pitcher and buy another brand..Brita 42558 Aqualux Water Pitcher

"Piece of Junk" 2010-02-14
By S. Meyer (FWB, Florida)
This Brita filter is poorly built. The top constantly falls off when I try to poor the water. It doesn't snap in properly. Also, the little flap at the spout gets stuck sometimes and water spills everywhere. I bought a PUR filter now and am more happy with it.
