This plastic unit like those before it won't last long - maybe one year. And then the gaskets will be worn and water will spray out from several places.
Pros:
* Price. Why get the more expensive stainless steel plated one when the thing won't last anyway?
* The filters are available in larger boxes now and are cheaper per unit. That makes this complimentary item more worthwhile.
* Considering how the price of gasoline might rise all over again, delivered water is potentially not a good long-term solution.
* This is not a big investment or long-term commitment. When it starts to leak, pitch it.
* Water flow is much improved from the mounts available just a year or two ago.
Cons:
* It won't last all that long. You'll know when it starts to leak.
* It hangs down from the faucet, stealing valuable sink space.
* Water flow is somewhat restricted although not nearly as bad as units sold just a year ago.
* It's ugly looking.
* If you like cold water, you have to refrigerate your filtered water and that's another step.
I'd like this drinking water solution more if I had a higher faucet.

I've owned mine for about 4 years and use it A LOT.
Never had a problem.
The green light became dim and stopped working.
I called PUR and they replaced it at no charge.
The water tastes great.
Mine has never leaked.
Thanks ... Ken

Water tastes weird. No chlorine taste which is good, but there is no other taste. It is as if you are drinking totally tasteless substance.
I've got a "stainless steel version, hoping that it would be more sturdy... but it is made from the same crappy plasstic that other colors... So if you are going to get this - don't pay more for stainless steel version.
It started leaking a little where it mounts to the faucet after a couple of month of ocassional use
I don't like the taste and tend not to use the filter often. Will probably throw away once the filter runs out.
I think I would have to stick with brita pitcher filter - water from it tastes much better.

Wow... so many people claim this leaks, but I have a few of them... purchased at different times... and none of them leak. I have one that is nearly 4 years old and still going strong with no leaks. I can only think that there are A LOT of people that aren't attaching it correctly. I would bet $$ that many people have cross-threaded the unit when attaching to the faucet.
The guy in the video review even has Teflon tape hanging out of the connection! If you use the tape, and it is hanging out, right there you have a gap that will cause it to leak. However, you shouldn't need any Teflon tape and I don't recommend using any. If you are using the tape because it is screwing on tightly & think this will help.... STOP. You are cross-threading it. Take it off & try again until it starts screwing on nice & smooth. The unit comes with several different attachments for various faucet styles. Make sure you are using the correct attachment. Make sure the rubber washers are in the pieces you are using. Make sure you put it on correctly. PUR is by far my favorite, if you compare boxes side by side, you will see that hands-down PUR filters out MANY more contaminants than any other pitcher/faucet mount style system.
Just keep in mind that you are screwing something plastic onto something metal. You may need to try a few times, you may get it on the first shot, but do NOT try and force tighten it, that is an indication you're not threaded on correctly & it will leak.

the "systems" should be forever FREE with filter puchases, and replacements sent out no questions asked
I thought my Brita was bad cuz filters were smaller, but the PUR hardware is "pure junk"
