I bought this filter system and installed it. 3 months later the housing developed a crack and water leaked everywhere.

I see complaints about this product all over the net. Why doesn't PUR recall this product?

I will not buy this product again and will do my best to discourage anyone I know from buying this product.

There is always something wrong with this product.Either a crack, a leak,the cartridges.Just out of the box and it started to fall apart.Yo are lucky if you get 4 months out of this thing.

I am pleasantly surprised this time by the new model with a completely new design. I ordered one to replace my old filter unit, as the old one (a year old) started to leak.

The filter housing is fixed at an upright position (no rotation), and the switch is placed on the right side of the unit - like more expensive PUR faucet filter models. The new model has an electronic water quality indicator that has replaced the old clear slot window. My previous leaking problem occurred at two positions - the indicator window and rotating junction for filtered water. So, it appears that PUR has devised these new design improvements to eliminate the causes of leaks. In addition, PUR includes a new joint mechanism to connect the filter unit to faucet - which is also a nice improvement. The 3 stage filter itself gives me a great taste, and successfully eliminates the odor of the Chicago water system.

the main prob with this filter is it goes to red in no time .thats so they can sell filters really expensive filters.try this ,take out the filter put the housing back together and run hot water though it for a few minutes .take it apart and put the old filter back in .you should get green light again and great water .these things are a great deal if you do this .i have a filter going on 2 years now.try it save some cash.

My husband bought this before we were even married, so we have been using the same one for over 6 years without any problems. We fill two 5 quart water dispensers and then store those in the fridge. The only thing I don't like is the cost of the filters, although I would say we probably don't spend as much money on filters as most people do on pop.
